Start with the service schedule
A high-pitched squeal can be a wear indicator letting you know the brake pads are getting low. It is worth booking an inspection before wear causes more damage.

Grinding is more urgent and can mean metal is contacting metal. Continuing to drive may turn a pad replacement into a larger repair.

A spongy pedal, a pedal that sinks, or a vehicle pulling under braking should be checked promptly. Changes in feel can point to several parts of the braking system.

Shudder through the pedal or steering wheel can also be a sign that the braking system needs attention, particularly after towing or repeated heavy braking.
